The PM Tarot typeface series began as a small personal project of digitizing the hand-lettering of the Rider-Waite Tarot. But over a six-month period in 2023, it expanded to 5 unique typefaces with many style variations.

With all the typefaces in the PM Tarot series, we’ve stayed true to the quirkiness and unique structure of the original lettering by including hundreds of alternate characters and ligatures. Even the clean, modern versions of the typefaces in the series maintain unique variations found in the original hand-lettering that deviate from common type classifications.

The classic Rider-Waite Tarot is the best-known Tarot deck. The vibrant cards, featuring full scenes with figures and symbols, were drawn in 1909 by Pamela Colman Smith under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite.

Initially published by the Rider Company, it is estimated more than 100 million copies of the deck exist in more than 20 countries.
